True North's mission is to LOVE GOD. LOVE OTHERS. MAKE DISCIPLES.
Pastor Chuck has been a minister for over 20 years. Prior to beginning his ministry, he practiced law in Colorado. He is still licensed to practice in that state. Pastor Chuck loves to learn, to think about new things and solve problems. He is married to Mitzi, an Executive Assistant in Administration at Kootenai Health. They have been married for 43 years and both attended college at Northwest Nazarene University. Pastor Chuck also graduated from the University of Denver Law School. He has also taught classes at Nazarene Bible College and Nazarene Theological Seminary.
Pastor Chuck and Mitzi started a new church in Highlands Ranch, Colorado and then pastored in Leavenworth, Washington. They came to serve as Teaching Pastor on staff of Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene. From there, they came to minister at True North Church in 2010. He was ordained as an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 1998.
Chuck and Mitzi have two daughters, Kenzi and Jadyn, who share the unique distinction of having been married on the same date. They were married in back to back ceremonies on the campus of Point Loma Nazarene University. It was a memorable day for all!
Chuck is an avid reader and learner, claims to be undefeated at Trivial Pursuit, and remains a fan of the Denver Broncos. Mitzi likes to be around people and thoroughly enjoys spending time with her girls when she can make the trip to southern California.
David and Liberty were blessed to spend their first 3 years of marriage working and traveling abroad. God called them back home to Coeur d’Alene, ID, in 2004. They miss living overseas and hope to someday return. In the meantime, they enjoy being so close to family. David and Liberty also love spending time outdoors. They and their 2 boys, Samuel age 6 and Brady age 3, take advantage of everything beautiful North Idaho has to offer: hiking, camping, swimming, golfing, skiing, you name it.
The Williams look for meaningful opportunities to serve our community. Volunteering at schools, helping families in need, and providing support for foster families are just a few of the practical ways they’ve been able to share God’s love. Jesus said to feed and clothe those in need, take care of strangers and the sick, and visit those in prison (Mt 25:35-36). Loving people in these practical ways opens the door to share the eternal hope they can have in Jesus.
David is passionate about music. He’s on the True North worship team, and he is a singer songwriter in a local band. If David’s not on stage at True North, you’ll find him in the kitchen making coffee and serving donuts-yum! As a caddie at Black Rock, summer is his busy season. He works long hours and has few days off, but he likes to hit a bucket of balls or play a round of golf himself when he’s free.
Pastor Liberty has felt God’s call to missions since she was in fourth grade, but only recently did she feel led to pursue pastoral studies. As a certified teacher in Christian schools, she taught children how Jesus and Scripture are relevant in every facet of life and learning, but Liberty wants to minister to the whole family. Serving True North as the Pastor of Families and Education provides the opportunity to do just that. She enjoys her online studies through Northwest Nazarene University and looks forward to how God will use her family in the future.
Frank is a Navy man. He served in the Submarine Services for six years, had a career as an HVAC & R mechanic for 30 years, which means he can fix nearly anything. Frank married his soul mate Cindy. They have raised four kids, and have four grandkids. They made Idaho their home in 2004. Sadly, Cindy passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in the fall of 2016. But, her Godly influence lives on in many who knew her.
Frank was brought to the Lord through Cindy’s example. They found True North in 2009. He began working with the teens in 2010 and became their leader in 2014. Frank is now pursuing a call to full time ministry.
When Frank isn’t with our teens, you can find him leading a group of Boy Scouts, hiking, or shooting the breeze around a campfire.
